I love this pendant. It is unique, fun, versatile and great for a quick fidget. Sometimes I’ll double it up with another shorter necklace. I learned of Boutique Academia through a friend who was gifted the Abacus necklace by her grandma. We both love it!

Super pleased with this necklace for my ‘maths geek!’ S. He’s going to love it. Was concerned that it was coming from the US as usually just buy within the UK. But this seemed much nicer than ones I’d seen similar in the UK so I took the chance. So pleased that I did. It’s really lovely. Great quality. I’d wear it & I’m definitely not a maths geek! Didn’t take too long to arrive either.

The pendant portion of the necklace was well made for the price, the beads operate smoothly and it all shines brightly. The welds on the sides for the posts that the beads slide on might have been finished nicer, but again for the price I'm happy with the quality and it's smooth and neatly done... just visible. The chain was fine, but I knew when I ordered this that I would replace the steel chain with something in sterling silver, and the opening on the pendant is such that it will accommodate just about any chain clasp.

I bought this as a Christmas present for my daughter. It's difficult to order items online and I depend on the reviews of others to help sway my decisions and did so with this item. I was really undecided but it had good reviews so I thought I'd take a chance. I ordered this in silver and gold and can honestly say when it arrived and I opened the packaged I actually smiled and said "aww". I loved it and very, very few times have I ever bought something online that exceeded my expectations. This necklace certainly did. It's unique and beautifully detailed.

it's possible, on the tiny abacus, to represent up to 9 digits, though they won't stay in place through the day, as the beads are fully functional. while it's not the easiest abacus to use, it's definitely the smallest i've seen that works, and is also quite pretty. it arrived in the mail only a couple days after i ordered it, right on time for π day (pi day, 3/14/16), preceded by a friendly email exchange with the owner, who seems quite reasonable.
