Big Dipper Necklace

The Big Dipper asterism, also called the Plough or the Saptarishi, is so easy to recognize that it is almost universally known in every Northern Hemisphere culture. Even young children can spot it, and so it is frequently the first thing in the night sky that young aspiring amateur astronomers learn to point out. The stars in the Big Dipper are also handy in finding Polaris, Spica, and other important celestial objects.

This 1" diameter steel pendant displays the stars in the Big Dipper, as well as several neighboring stars. Being steel, the pendant will never tarnish, and is both beautiful and sturdy. The back of the pendant is blank and can be engraved by professional engravers. (We do not offer engraving in-house at this time.) The pendant is hung from your choice of a 24" steel ball chain or 18" sterling silver chain.

Perfect for:

  • Astronomers
  • Star gazers
  • Science teachers
  • Anyone with an a love of the night sky
